inspiration

I am drawn to texture and colour, which is probably why textiles and stitch are so appealing to me. Nature is a big influence in my work and as a keen gardener, there are clear references from the natural world, both wild and cultivated in my work.

I am also inspired by domesticity and day to day life, both how it is lived and the tools that have been used over the years to run and maintain the home, create a productive garden for pleasure and flowers and an allotment to help put food on the table everyday.

My days are surrounded by vintage things that have been handed down within the family, so it is no surprise that these find their way into my work from time to time and I also like to share things that I have collected over the years in my gallery shop.
